Smart Casual University Outfit Inspiration

I find that one thing that really takes the ‘meh’ out of my Monday is having a stylish outfit ready and waiting for me to wear. Not only does it save me time so that I can hit the snooze button but it’s also just such a mood booster leaving the house knowing I look put together. Here’s some university outfit inspiration that’s as comfy as it is smart – also ideal for casual Friday at work or Saturday shopping with the girls.

I’ve taken to tying my graphic t-shirts at the waist as I find that it gives my outfits a more tailored look. I also find that most high street t-shirts don’t fall that flatteringly – while the designs are fun the material doesn’t move particularly beautifully – so this is prettier than having the hem just hanging there (it also saves me having to iron them in the morning when I’m in a hurry paha).

We’re having a warm spell here in London this week so this is what I wore to grab a coffee on Sunday. When things inevitably cool off again though, I’ll just add black tights and swap the mules for ankle boots for a cosy casual look.

Can I let you in on a secret? I actually made these mules myself by cutting into these M&S sneakers I was gifted during fashion week last year. They were great as they were but a size too small so I decided to doctor them – I’ve gotten so much more wear out of them this way, especially now I’ve made these pretty ribbon laces to give them a more feminine look. I’m not expecting everyone to go hacking at their trainers though, just a reminder that a little customisation can be fun sometimes!

I actually can’t believe that I haven’t posted on here since the beginning of the month! This month has been a crazy one. I’ve taken on more freelance clients at the same time as helping my parents relocate their business and it’s all a bit mad but I’m really enjoying the personal challenge. I feel like if I can rise to the challenge then the next few months are going to mark a huge period of growth for me – watch this space!
