After looking through all of the Black Friday sales to share my Affordable Luxury Gift Guide yesterday, it was inevitable that I should fall in love with a few items along the way. I’m a huge advocate for self-gifting but in case my purse strings don’t stretch as far as to get all of these things, I thought I’d share my 2017 Christmas wish list so maybe some of you can get ideas of what to ask for this year.
Dear Father Christmas, here are 10 pretty things I wouldn’t hate to find under my tree this year…
Abbott Lyon Kensington 40 Watch
I’m in love with my gold Michael Kors watch but lately I’ve been thinking how nice it’d be to have something a little sportier to add to my collection. The Abbott Lyon Kensington 40 with a black face is the perfect mix of elegant and cool. I could wear it just as easily with sportswear as with a smart outfit. The one with the matching black straps sold out before I could even get this post up (insert crying emoji) but luckily for us, Abbott Lyon watches have interchangeable straps so I can just order the black straps separately when they’re back in stock and have both to switch up my look – hurrah!
Monica Vinader Fiji Bracelet
The Monica Vinader Fiji bracelets have been on my wish list for at least five years now so I think it’s about time I give in and get one. With more expensive pieces I always like to wait a while to see if it’s just a style crush or if it’ll be a long lasting love affair. It works out well for me, I’ve yet to buy a designer piece that I don’t still love as much today as the day I bought it. I’d love a Fiji bracelet with a neutral coloured cord as a classy addition to my growing gold arm stack. Lucky for me then that the one with the black strap is in the Black Friday sale with a whopping £40 off!
FYI – Abbott Lyon have a beautiful dupe of the gold chain Fiji which is a fraction of the price. I’d that wanted to share that here but it’s mysteriously disappeared from the website since the Black Friday sales kicked in… (remember what I said in my Black Friday secrets video?). I’ve been told it’ll be back once they’re over so keep your eyes peeled and if I get my hands on that one I’ll be sure to share!
Gold Stacking Rings
Gorgeous arm candy doesn’t stop at the wrist and since I’ve been sharing loads of nail art snaps on Instagram lately, it’d be nice to have some pretty rings to adorn my fingers. Gold is my staple jewellery colour and I love the mix and match look so I reckon this chunky ring from Abbott Lyon paired with these dainty knuckle rings would look really nice with any pretty polish.
Fluffly Long Plain White Robe
I’m having a massive wardrobe clear out this year. I’ve talked before about how important it is for your mental health to regularly detox your wardrobe and I want to enter into 2018 with a minimalist wardrobe of pieces I really, really love and/or need. That means admitting that it’s time to say goodbye to some much loved items like my hot pink sparkly dressing gown from about six Christmases ago. As comfy as it is, after a lot of use it’s looking a little worse for wear and now it’s time I get a new grown up one. No sparkle, no ears, no cute characters on the chest. Just a plain white, long, fluffy cloud. Sorry, I mean robe.
Silky Piped Pyjamas
It’s also time to throw out my mismatched old boyfriend t-shirts and elephant print travel pants in favour of something a little more elegant. I think some silky, piped, grown up pyjamas would go really well under my new dressing gown. I’m on the lookout for neutral colours, black, white, dusky pink and a mix of short of long sets would be nice so I always have a clean pair to hand whatever the temperature. How lovely are these initial ones from Not on The High Street? So classy. A matching kimono might not go amiss too.
Black Suede Slippers – £35
I can hardly walk around in my sophisticated silk pyjamas still wearing my discoloured, yellow Tweetie Pie slipper shoes can I? Nothing beats the comfort of UGGs but they don’t come cheap so I found these more affordable sheepskin slippers instead. How nice would the black ones look with the PJs above?
KG Leather Kensington Bag
Oh, this bag! The generous size, the buttery soft leather, the quant quilting detail against the cool, jewelled eagle clasp. If the Bvlgari Serpenti and Chanel Classic Flap bags had a baby, this is what it would look like. And who’d have thought that it would be a tiny fraction of the price of both? Not exactly cheap but I just know that the cost-per-wear would be down to pennies in no time This would come with me everywhere.
Dune Gole Mules
My casual shoe collection is seriously lacking right now and I think there’s only so many times that I can show up to a party in my Nike Free Runs and claim the ‘sports luxe’ look. Mules are a great casual option as they’re comfy and classy and since those darn Gucci slippers are still inescapable across social media (and I don’t have a cool £600 to spare) these Dune dupes, complete with faux fur insole, have caught my eye.
Pecksniffs Pecan & Pumkin Scented Candle
Once I’m feeling all cosy and snug in my new nightwear, what better way to top off the hygge atmosphere than by filling the room with candlelight and the scent of warm pecan and pumpkin – mmmm. I spotted this candle in TK Maxx when I was doing some Christmas shopping last week and I’ve been thinking about it ever since.
Light Up Duo Phone Case
As a blogger I feel like it’s only right that I up my selfie game this season with a light-up phone case. The kind with lights in the front and back so not only is it perfect for my instagram stories vlogs but my friends will no longer need to provide me with extra torch light at every meal for me to get my food pic juuuust right. The branded ones are a little more than I’d want to pay for a phone accessory but these eBay ones look like they’d do the job just fine.
I could go on with this list forever but instead, I’m putting these and everything else that I’m currently lusting after on a Pinterest board, complete with links for you to shop. I encourage you to do the same and share it with your mum, your brother, your nan and anyone else likely to ask you those that magic line, ‘so what do you want for Christmas?’.
